Spiel Essen 2019 – Ludically

I must admit as a fan of Archipelago, I am fan of Christophe Boelinger, owner of Ludically. So, when I had a possibility to meet with him and play his newest upcoming game Rise & Fall, I had to overthink that of course for a very long time to consider if I really wanted that.

In a nutshell that is what happened, with backing Christophe’s latest game Living Planet (which by the way, looks absolutely amazing), I was getting in touch with his people and they checked our website and asked me to come by at the booth at Spiel to check on what they were busy with. That decision, as abovementioned, took me at least a very long five seconds to react with of course a positive answer to the meetup.

Rise & Fall is going to be civilization game with no randomness or luck and according to Christophe himself perfect playable with all player counts, including two. Actually, his wife loves to play the game with just the two of them. It is set in a fantasy world and players build their civilizations up in the air by piling up tiles and build your temples on them high cliffs.

My first impression is that the game is going to be good and easy accessible. The actions you can do are clear due and I like the modular game board and tiles. The artwork is simple at the moment, but looking at the box art I must say its promising. I look forward to this game and I hope we can bring you some more news about this game beginning next year. Until that time I wait patiently for our copy of Living Planet to arrive.
