Spiel.Digital – Helvetiq

Whilst the Saturday afternoon, we spend our time in a cosy Swiss chalet or at least we would rather. The team of Helvetiq thought differently and did just that, during Spiel.Digital they streamed and demoed their games from somewhere in the Swiss mountains. Together with some awesome new games, they even had a cheese fondue. I just hope they didn't dipped their new releases in the cheese.

Helvetiq had a whole lot of things planned during their stay in the Swiss Alps, together with a very nice line of new games with a few of them I already acquired. I went on and off the Helvetiq discord server to check on what was going on, but I played the first game on Saturday which was Papageno, a card collecting birds game. While I was waiting for a chance to play Kompromat with its designer.

Great about Helvetiq their games is the fact that they are small and quick, or yea well, the games I was familiar with. Unfortunate for me I had to cut off my game of Kompromat with Adam Porter because the game took longer then I had expected and we had to pick up our children from my parents.

Later that Saturday evening we played a game of 7 Souls from and with Inside Up Games and we video chatted and drank Whisky with Jenny from the Instagram account @Brettspielsuechtig who now that I think of it, introduced me to Helvetic's bestseller Bandido.

Sunday is a the only day our children got screen time, so why not better spend it with watching the good people of Helvetic unbox one of their newest children's game No Mercy for Monsters. Fun fact, we have received the game after Spiel and our oldest started explaining about the game, because he knows it and that we have to use the socks to throw at the monsters and all. He is four, I am proud as a MF.

More new games from Helvetiq were Bandida the successor of Bandido, Tatamokatsu which I first peaked at Spiel 2019, Captain Bluff about a baggage handler who makes a big mess at the airport. For sure, I hope to see them all again, and maybe even share a little bit of cheese fondue at Spiel next year.

And an extra thank you, for creating our very first Spiel moment together with our boys.
