Spiel.Digital – Czech Games Edition

During Spiel.Digital the good people of Czech Games Edition opened up their 3D world for everyone to come to visit and almost play in person their available games. One of those available games is Lost Raiders of the Ark, or no that something else, but you do hear that familiar tune now right? Well it is a good tune to talk about Lost Ruins of Arnak. (Its Raiders of the Lost Ark by the way! Tatatataaaa tatataaaa).

Lost Ruins of Arnak is set in a adventurous world and therefor is a mix up easily made. Nevertheless, this game has nothing to do with raiding arks, or at least I have seen not one lost ark in this game during our demo. Lost Ruins only, and a lot of other ancient relics. The game combines some deck-building with worker-placement and a lot of stuff is going on, on the board. Next to the board you will have a little player board with your base camp and I like these kind of little nods to the theme all throughout the game.

Another game which was playable was Under Falling Skies, not especially on my radar, but I am here now anyway and I am happy I did. Under Falling Skies is a Space Invaders like game in where you have to defend your city from underground bunkers. In those bunkers you will have to work with an interesting dice-placement system to control your air defense batteries and shoot that alien scum out of the sky, and make them fall I presume?

For the disclaimer, I have played these two games during CastleTriCon earlier, which is a collaboration between Czech Games Edition, Heidelbaer Games and Horrible Guild. The same 3D world has been opened during Spiel.Digital and I visited it to play some other games. Wandering around is actually quite awesome and it was fun interacting with other avatars.
