Spiel Essen 2019 – Black Box Adventures

Black Box Adventures had an easy year this year, no new Spiel releases means they probable have been on a sunny holiday or something. Sipping cocktails with dictators in Hawaii, laying in the sun while figuring out how to overtake the Americas! But everyone in the board gaming world know this is not true, behind the curtains the bearded man of Black Box Adventures are working hard on their new games.

For this year’s Spiel, Black Box Adventures brought the result of all their hard-working effort in the form of a near finished demo of Adventures in Neverland. Seeing the result is always nice on a project you are following from the start and I might be a little biased because of this, but the work from the chosen artist is fantastic. The board and the player booklets are amazing and I like way this is going.

Their other game which is planned for probable next year is Climate Oasis. This is a cooperative, Recourse Management game in where you must survive the environmental dangers and build your Climate Oasis. This game I didn’t have a try on Spiel as I would like to play the more finished product, but when you know me, you know I like climate themed games, so expect more coverage on this later in time.

We can conclude, next year will be a promising year for Black Box Adventures, with Adventures in Neverland hitting Kickstarter on the 2nd of February and you guys can expect a full review on the game around near this date.
